Are you ready to revitalize your skin? Then, Omnilight photo-rejuvenation (using light based technology to rejuvenate your skin) may be right for you. While traditional Fotofacial technology has been around for almost 10 years, the Omnilight™ fluorescent pulsed light (FPL) device takes Fotofacials to the next level. The Omnilight™ can transform your skin making it look flawless, youthful and glowing once again.

The Omnilight’s™ mode of action is different from that of lasers. While lasers specifically target one problem in the skin whether it is brown spots, red spots, acne or wrinkles, the beauty of FPL treatments is that Dr. Roberts can treat it all with just one device. And while more than one treatment is often needed, with each treatment you will see a reduction in imperfections caused by age, sun damage, hormonal changes and other skin conditions like Rosacea.

Because of it’s multifunctional design, the Omnilight can also remove unwanted facial or body hair, treat precancerous skin lesions and prevent new one’s from reaching the skin’s surface by using it in conjunction with photodynamic therapy (see Photodynamic therapy section in our website).

Who is a candidate for Omnilight™ therapy?

During your consultation, Dr. Roberts will help determine if Omnilight is the right choice for you. Before pursuing Omnilight™ treatment you should consider the following:

• If you are suntanned, the Omnilight™ cannot be used until   your tan has completely faded to avoid any risk of healing   with skin discoloration (white or brown spots), which can be   permanent.

• If you have a history of sun sensitivity disorders, like Lupus,    or are on sun sensitivity medications, the Omnilight™ may not    be ideal for you.

• It is recommended that patients wait until after pregnancy    and/or breastfeeding to use Omnilight™ due to increased    hormone levels, which stimulate blood vessel growth and    brown pigment of the skin.

• Patients must be off Accutane for 6 months prior to starting    Omnilight™ due to a potential increased risk of scarring.

And while the Omnilight reveals healthy younger looking skin, as we continue to age and expose ourselves to the sun and other environmental stressors, repeated treatments may be necessary.
